From The Medina Azahara

This amazing city was built around 950 AD, but less than a century later was abandoned, soon to be in ruins.

Now it is being restored in parts, so that the visitor can get a feel for how the Caliph lived in those long past days. It also affords wonderful views over the plain to Córdoba and beyond.

We are home again now, having had the best Christmas ever.

And still no turkey!
