Actually, he'd suffered a nasty blow to the head during an aerial challenge and the physio was checking carefully to ensure his neck was OK. Luckily, he was fit to continue and got up to win the man of the match award, nearly winning the game with a headed effort that hit the crossbar.

The game ended 0-0, but it was an entertaining game, especially in the second half, enjoyed by a crowd of over 6000, our best attendance of the season.

The rest of the day was spent playing with Sophie's new toys, enjoying the traditional Boxing Day meal of cold meats, etc., then board games once Sophie had gone to bed.
