Waxwing Weathervane

It snowed here quite a bit today and was very windy.

Was happy to see around 40 goldfinches in my garden today and the return of two of my siskins (yay!), but the icing on the boxing day cake was 150ish waxwings bobbing around trees near my house.  There was even a few minutes  of blue sky when I got to laugh at them circling a tree full of berries which was being defended by a very determined mistle thrush...he kept his territory and they flew off elsewhere!
