Searching for starfish

We spent happy hours among the rock pools searching for sea anemones and star fish. We only found crabs and a few shed crab shells. Back up the beach Kai was showing his aunty his bucket of found treasures when I over heard him explaining to her in a very teacherly tone that the crab had 'shed his old hard shell when he grew to grow a bigger one and left this one behind because he doesn't need it anymore.'

Almost word for word as I'd explained earlier!


It made me smile to hear him!
