A very 'merry' Christmas
Mum used to make the most glorious sherry trifles (I think she used to get a bit twitchy pouring the sherry over the sponges, "accidentally" soaking them. I remember really liking the sponge layer!) I decided a sherry trifle would be a lovely dessert today, and added a bit of kiwi summer using mango, fresh strawberries and fresh bluberries. I made it in Nanna's old and very well-used bowl. 3 layers of trifle - 3 layers of family. There's something in that. All part of the day's quiet reflection.
I hope everyone has had their own kind of special Christmas - whatever that means for you :)
