Dead Tree View

Not a good start to the day. A juvenile Robin somehow got caught up in the fat feeder. Don't know how long it had been there, but I was pleased that once I got to the table it was actually alive. I eventually extricated it, but its claw was very badly damaged. It flew off okay and we've seen it back again and it seems to be able to balance okay on the seed feeder, which isn't that easy for a Robin anyway, so here's hoping Hoppity Robin should be able to survive. I've modified the fat feeder so's it shouldn't happen again.

So you've got a view today. Our local post office closed a year or so back and the next nearest is not the most efficient and only opens mornings. Post Office finder pointed me towards one that was only 1.4 miles away that I'd never been to and seemed a nice cycle route. It was and I decided to come back along a bridleway that I'd never used where today's view was taken.

Strange we've been living here almost 30 years and I didn't know about a post office that's 1.4 miles away and I've never been along a bridleway that starts no more than half a mile from home.
