A strange Christmas Eve

Took daughter and grandchildren down to Rennes and then drove to Dieppe and crossed to England. Exhausting.
Now in tiny hotel room in Brighton. Too tired to go out for food. Tea and shortbread off tray in room and watching Alan Bennett's Lady in the Van on TV.
Wondering if I relate more to the writer or old woman living in van.
