Sunrise on Christmas Eve

After filling up the car with petrol and getting a few last minute bits in Tesco, I noticed the sky was a gorgeous golden colour. It could only be the sunrise, so I headed for the beach.
This was taken at 08.17 and the golden glow had started to disappear. My extras have a few more at a few minutes apart. Weirdly, and I wouldn't believe it if I didn't have photos to prove it, it seemed like the sun was going down ! I know ! The only thing I can think is that the cloud bank out in the Channel was getting higher at the same speed as the sun was rising.
