The Christmas Eve Box

Christmas is all about the children and it's time to start new traditions, so I put together a Christmas Eve box which contained little gifts for all of us.  Scarlett was so excited at this idea, and even Violet helped opening the box.  The main gift for Scarlett was a Gingerbread House kit which she decorated this afternoon.  As you can see, she made quite a good job of it, and couldn't wait to eat it!

As a child, we always went to my Aunty Nan's on Christmas Eve for a hot pot supper (beef with potatoes, carrots and onions) and I remember the excitement of going home knowing that Father Christmas would come with presents once I was asleep.  So tonight I made a hot pot for us all, and we ate it early so both Scarlett and Violet were with us. Then we sprinkled reindeer food on the garden, hung Santa's magic key outside and have left a cake and a glass of milk for Santa with a carrot for Rudolph.
