Burning Candles
at the war cemetery... more in the extra... my last one this year.
In a decades-old Dutch tradition, schoolchildren visited the Canadian War Cemetery in Holten (Netherlands) on Christmas Eve, candles in hand. The candles are for the fallen Canadian soldiers of the Second World War who liberated the Netherlands. At the initiative of Dick Jansen in 250 villages and towns in the Netherlands candles will be placed at each war grave. I would like to ask if you wherever you may be in the World could you do the same, and place a candle on a war grave on Christmas Eve.” Lets take a moment to remember those who gave their last Christmas for freedom....
