Christingles
reading for the service this afternoon :)
A group of us (both children and adults) made 100 Christingles in 23 minutes this morning in a well rehearsed method :) I met Babydays and her children down there too! The children were all having great fun playing hide and seek when we'd finished making the Christingles :)
Think I've got a bit of bokeh in this too :)
A brief explanation of the meaning of the Christingles, for those who don't know:
The orange represents the world.
The red ribbon/tape represents the love and blood of Christ
Dried fruits and sweets are symbols of God's creation (some say they represent the four seasons)
When the candle is lit it symbolises Jesus the light of the world, who brings hope to people living in darkness.
I didn't go to the service because I am still coughing rather....but I did help this morning and then did the washing up after our cuppa...
The rest of the day I have been relaxing and I've just got this yearsl jigsaw out (its one I didn't do last year, its not even out of its packet yet!) :)
PJs on already and Carols from Kings on BBC2! Just opened a Snowball and had a mince pie :) Going to cook some sea bass for dinner a bit later...
Merry Christmas to you all Xxx
