Swinging 60s
In December 1966, my mother must have blessed the BBC and Fanny Craddock. This is from a 4-page supplement to the Radio Times of 8th December that year.
With six children under 16, a husband on stage every night in panto somewhere in Scotland, and hosting parents, aunt, cousin, probably some acting friends for Christmas dinner, she needed all the help she could get. I really don't think she had time or energy to join be Swinging.
The recipes, if not the hob and oven plan, have remained staples of our Christmas every year since!
The 27th Dec is my parents' 66th wedding anniversary - 65 Christmas dinners cooked as Mrs H with only 2 missed to the best of my knowledge.
