V&A
Totally exhausted from all our walking yesterday, but we had another lovely day. Had a reasonably relaxed start, then set out around midday and drove to the V&A Museum. It took a while to get there, thanks to traffic, and then took us a while to find a parking spot, too, but we still made it into the museum before our ticket time of 2pm (just!) We hadn't had any lunch, so asked if we could actually go in to the exhibition ("You say you want a revolution? Records and rebels 1966-1970") a little later - then went to the café for some food.
While I was off buying our lunch, my Mum got talking to a lovely elderly lady at the table next to her. She told us she doesn't cook for herself so eats at the V&A café every day. We had quite a chat with her while we ate our lunch - she was very sweet.
Went in to the exhibition next - another excellent one, and it took us a good hour and a half to go round - there was so much of it! After that we had a bit of time spare, so we went back to the café and sat in this really beautiful bit and had a coffee.
Next we walked over to Sloane Square, and met up with my boss in the Cote restaurant there for some dinner. Our other colleague Judith joined us towards the end of the meal, then we all walked round the corner to Cadogan Hall to see Maddy Prior and the Carnival Band. Excellent evening, accompanied by some lovely mulled wine!
Walked back to the V&A again afterwards, picked up the car and drove back to our hotel. Didn't get in until 11:30pm - knackered dot com!
