St Bartholomew's Rainhill

Driven past this church many times. Decided to stop and have a better look. I guess the first thing you notice is the complete lack of windows. I have added an extra in colour. A very informative lady stopped when she saw me and gave me a full history of the Church. Built in 1841 as a chapel to the now Loyola Hall. Built in the style of the Church of San Bartolomeo all'lsola in Rome. It is a grade ll listed building. Some amazing extra info ranging from the founder also winning the Grand National in 1840 to the Vice Admiral who was in the Battle of Jutland (Kenneth Dewar) being buried here. Another place to add to the list for a return visit, especially to see the, I quote "stunning interior". just hope my guide is around on the day.
