A traditional Christmas plant also known as The Symbol of Purity, Flower of the Holy Night, Crown of the Andes, Lobster Flower and Flame Leaf Flower. Montezuma, last of the Aztec kings had them brought into what is now Mexico City, by caravans, as they would not grow in high altitudes. Named after Joel Roberts Poinsett who introduced them to the U.S in 1828. I can never manage to keep them for long !
