I have contractors coming tomorrow to give me estimates on cleaning and staining the decking on the front porch.

We completely rebuilt the front porch last year. It was one of those small projects that was supposed to be a simple couple of weeks or so but rapidly became an epic. We were plagued by bad weather, a host of unexpected discoveries, and various other crazy things along the way. The biggest blow was finding old carpenter ant damage hidden behind the siding covering one of the supporting posts "holding" up the porch roof.

I learn a lot with every project!
