Just Ducky..

Isn't this female mallard just the sweetest looking thing? They have pretty heads I think. Bill and I went to Burnt Bridge Creek Park and walked on part of the trail that loops around this pretty wetlands area. You can see it here. The trail in total is 8 miles long and we've now walked on 2 small sections. It's a beautiful trail for walkers, runners, and bikers. It's fully paved and is such a treat to have this right in the city. Just a block away from this water area is a busy main intersection, but you'd never know it by looking at this park.

Went to my 8:30 a.m. appointment to have a wrist brace "made" for me at the PT office. They mold those plastic pieces and cut to fit and add the velcro and tape and such and off I went, feeling like I'd become part Borg. I watched a lot of Star Trek, okay? It's large and feels very bulky. She said I have loose ligaments in my wrist, for whatever unknown reason (computer? aging? genetics? or a combo of those three?) and the only cure is to immobilize the wrist so that the ligaments can "tighten up". Just ducky. Typing this is a bit of a challenge..slow and awkward. Sadly, I will have to limit my on line conversations, which is hurtful to me. I will feel out of the loop. I will BE out of the loop. Nothing much to be done, except try to heal. I'll work very hard at it.

Oh, we went to one of my favorite places for lunch. Anoush Deli, which is very close to that trail. They make the best Gyro's (add extra feta for 50 cents..yum!) and Bill had the turkey and ham sandwich. His taste buds don't enjoy some of the Mediterranean flavors that I love. This is actually a Russian deli, and there are interesting things to look at all over this small store. They have a lovely borscht soup also. And chocolate! I had no idea the Russian's were so fond of chocolate. A huge variety of chocolate for such a small space. Milk chocolate mostly. I never have seen any dark chocolate there, I don't think.

It's lovely afternoon and I think I'll get something to drink and then enjoy the outside before I figure out how to clean the kitchen. Hope everything is ducky for everyone today.
