The shortest day

This was the view at 8am today and the forecast was for heavy rain in the morning and a cloudy afternoon.The Herring Gulls came down in dozens to feed on the worms which had come to the surface after the heavy overnight rain.Slowly the clouds cleared and we now have a beautiful sunny day.So much for weather forecasts!
