Next door

We get given a tray of food each day from our neighbours at the moment. I'm very grateful because it can often save me from cooking. We do always return the plates with food on them, as is proper in this culture. But today the mum told us very firmly that we must NOT give food back - they are giving it to us to earn credit with God for her husband who died recently. It seems as though if we give them food we are cancelling out his credit to get into heaven more quickly. It makes me even more thankful for Jesus's finished work.
