Southwest by west

Day 22 and a photo without Glossop in it but that tells you more about the town than many of my other photos.

I'm on Monks Road near Charlesworth with Glossop behind me and looking in today's direction is exactly where the weather is coming from. This is a common occurrence the clouds are channelled towards the town and slowed by the Pennine hills - the result is rain and plenty of it.

The rain fills the brooks that shape mountains and with the wind weathers the local sandstone. The other result is lots of green on the farmland grass and those wonderful wooded areas.
