Christmas Markets
This morning we got up happy to be in Berlin.
The weather was a bit wet.
Since we had no food in the house we went next door to Molinari's to have breakfast. They have the world best scrambled eggs!
After this treat we had a look around the local flea market which was pretty deserted. Maybe a 5th of its usual size. It was still raining and we wondered if we would just do nothing today.
We went back home and checked online the Christmas Market options and found a couple we decided to go to.
Number one was the "Christmas Rodeo", an alternative Christmas Market in the old Postbahnhof close to the Ostbahnhof.
We took the U-Bahn there and arrived there around 3 pm. It was indoors and on 2 levels. There were maybe 200 different stalls selling things. A lot of Berliner designers and a lot of unusual things.
I bought some Berlin Underwear for myself (and Boxers for Neil ... but he should now know yet :))
It was a great market. Once we were done we went to Alexanderplatz to check the 2 other Markets there. They were more traditional, with Ice rinks as well. We liked the one at the Red Townhall (Rotes Rathaus) more and will be back.
We bought loads of Salami at the amazing Salami stalls and I think I am sorted for a few months :).
It was close to 10 pm when we had a bratworst for dinner and made our way home.
We decided to walk. Ih had stopped raining a few hours ago and it was a nice walk home.
Back home I looked at my pictures while Neil was decorating our wee fake black Christmas tree that I bought last year our of fun.
We had a great day!
