Surprise!

The Hibiscus syriacus "Blue Bird" plant in a large pot has not looked happy this year, and although there are plenty of buds, they hadn't opened.

So I moved it into a sunnier spot and gave it extra waterings, and ....

Hey presto! the first flower opened today!
