On behalf of cake bakers everywhere a special mention of JazzyB (Lydia) must be made. As ever she has enthused you all, well done MzzyB.

I counted 16 entrants when in fact one was from last year, thank you for saving my skin Heartfreek, good try.

Miss Winterfinch had a very original take on matters, with the simple expedient of photographing the contents of the cake while she sampled the gin. 

Paola made an ingenious Gingerbread house, Guernseygirl had me chuckling at the footprints in her icing and Ukelehayley made a beautiful traditional cake with nuts aplenty.

For sheer innovation, quality of cake and wow factor the winner this year is Roly  Well done on a brilliant design combining cake and pudding - brilliant.
