European Starling
I have so many birds in my garden - they are all subjects for future blips - but I am getting to know why the National Geographic photographers spend months waiting for the perfect shot!!! I have been trying to get good shots of a couple of my favourite birds but it's not easy - maybe I'm getting too fussy!!
In between trying for that perfect shot today, this European Starling hopped into view and I was pleased with this one! These birds are common residents around our coastal area and can become quite irritating as they arrive in flocks, have a grating, throaty warble and tend to chase the smaller birds away. But they are rather beautiful and they also have their place in nature!
