Moss Clad

I got a surprise this morning when I opened the window to see the landscape submerged in fog. After some cleaning, I popped down to the village and went into the wool shop to buy some needles.  Its been a while since I did any knitting so I am going to start with a simple scarf and see how I get on.  I couldn't resist picking up some buttons with a pretty design on them - I will have to think of something to make to put them on.

After lunch I went to the allotment to investigate the state of the parsnips - I can confirm I have edible parsnips!  I am thrilled as I didn't thin them out so wasn't sure if they would have had the space to grow.  This afternoon I've been busy making parsnip soup and a spicy butternut squash soup.  I was inspired by my trip to allotment so I have bought some bare root hedging plants - hawthorn and blackthorn - so as to try to create a hedge between mine and my neighbour's plots.  I'll be able to pick up the plants from our local tree nursery next week.

My blip is of one of the many ivy and moss clad walls and out-buildings I pass on my walks around the local lanes.
