AP Psychology Photo Journal 6
What is going on in the photo?
This is a picture of a mini Christmas tree in my home. Each year we decorate it with ornaments and battery powered lights. It's hard to capture in a single image, but the lights on the tree appear to move around the tree in a spiral like motion.
How is it related to a specific psychology concept from the current unit or previous unit?
This picture is relevant to the concept of stroboscopic motion. The stroboscopic effect is caused when lights appear to be moving, however this motion is actually represented by a series of short, instantaneous flashes of individual lights in a continuous pattern.
Link the image to one of the perspectives of psychology and how it relates.
This image is related to the Cognitive Psychological perspective. Cognitive Psychology is the study of mental activities associated with thinking, knowing, remembering, and how we perceive things.
