What is First Aid
What has a Bridge got to do with first aid I can hear you all asking. Tonight is a continuation of the Johnson and Johnson First Aid Manual. My example of First aid when I was teaching was First Aid is the Skilled Application of Treatment given in the event of an Emergencey or Sudden Illness. Johnson and Johnson say; I realy like this one. First aid to the injured has been aptly described as a bridge between the accident and medical or surgical assistance, and over this bridge the injured person is to be carried from the place of injury to a place of treatment. once the bridge has been crossed and the injured person is placed in the hands of the medical attendant ( or hospital),first aid is at an end.
Such action is first aid whoever may render it. I have just been looking through this book again and Electric shock well I beleive more people may have needed first aid if they atempted to do what is said. Eg: Do not touch the soles or the heels of his shoes while he remains in contact-the nails are dangerous. 3. If necessary to cut a live wire, use an axe or a hatchet with a dry wooden handle,or properly insulated pliers. Well beleive me the man on TV would say in a very concerned voice Don't try this at home. Sorry will catch up on replys and comments over the next few days I was called out at 03:45 and never got home until 17:00, so I am very tired tonight. Thank you all so much for the comments I realy thaught I made a hash of my image last nigt.
