2nd time lucky!?
It was a full day of exploring the northern coastline of Anglesey (Bull Bay and Cemaes Bay - the most northerly coast of Wales) and the seascape as well as the landscape was stunning! I couldn't get enough of it and I felt pure joy to have seen it myself. I tried to capture its wild beauty and I must say photos can never compare to the real thing. It was like trying to contain an ocean in a small bottle, simply impossible.
My next stop was the White Eagle Pub where I had the most amazing late lunch of pan fried grey mullet with tomato and black olive ragout and aioli. I was mightily impressed to the point where I almost requested to see the Chef so I could shake his hand! Lol. Me thinks there will be a few experiments happening in my Brisbane kitchen come October! :).
My plan after lunch was to spend a few hours at Rhoscolyn Beach and shoot a rock formation called White Arch but I couldn't find it so I rushed back to the South Stack and got there just as the Sun was hitting the horizon. I got carried away with the shoot hence I ended up getting back to the hostel after dark, yikes! I promised myself I won't go wandering around in the dark on my own but I guess armed with my tripod and heavy camera, I felt invincible, lol! So here is my image for today. I felt quite lucky as the crescent moon also made an appearance and that lovely thin mist in the background.
Hope you enjoy looking at the photo as much as I enjoyed taking it, despite ending up with almost frozen fingers and slightly sore legs going down 300 flights (the total was about 400 to get to the lighthouse but 300 was quite enough for me!) to get to a good vantage point of the lighthouse and back up again!
I'm heading to Snowdon tomorrow and crossing my fingers that i'll find a spare bed in one of the hostels there. Surprise surprise I changed my plans but didn't manage to book anything, oops! I guess there's always the back seat of the car if all else fails! :)
Happy mid-week blipland!
