2016 Tuesday -- Final Exams

Today I said goodbye to four classes. This semester I have taught two classes on Tuesday mornings and two classes on Thursday mornings and the times are 8:15-10:20 and 10:30-12:35. I meet each class once a week in the classroom and the remainder of the time online.

So this morning we doubled-up and had the students from both days meet together. They were simply submitting a take home final of two paragraphs they had to compose. Both meetings were brief and class was dismissed.

Then I did several hours of work in my office; the faculty is required to have five hours of office time each week and usually that is spread over a minimum of three days. For finals week all five hours can be done on one day.

I also teach a class on Wednesday mornings. Our final meeting was last week because their final was submitted online.

My time with all these students is now history. These moments feel very melancholy. This has been a very good semester.
