Volunteering

I love that my employer lets us have a day volunteering in our local community each year and I have been making a case to have two days.

I was cutting it fine to use mine this year so the opportunity to take some retired racing greyhounds out walking was too good to miss.

We took several groups out for around 45 minutes each.  It was great for my step count, fantastic for the dogs who were very excited by their excursion and, as my colleague Jaime put it, "best day at work EVER"

There are 27 greyhounds waiting for their forever homes at the moment and I have warmed to the breed more recently.  We also took out a pair of whippets whose owner passed away recently.
