Becky's Report

I was very nervous about going with my sister to her one-year-since-the-stem-cell-transplant appointment up at OHSU, but they had nothing but good news for her! She has had a very aggressive cancer that is now soundly subdued; not a sign of it anywhere. What a huge relief to hear her doctor talk about how well she is doing! (Right away Becky attributed it to her hubby's cooking, what a sweet wife!) Then he went on to describe exciting and very new transplant options: a combo kidney/stem cell transfer from a single donor that would strengthen her and make it very difficult for the cancer to reappear, at the same time giving her a new kidney! Pretty cool.
Meanwhile, I'm sure you are eager to hear all about me: After the appointment, Becky and Gery saw me to the tram stop where I hopped aboard taking the tram, the trolley, the train, and the bus home in the falling snow ever so delighted to be alive.
