A frustrating start

At 9 am the digger owner arrived and announced that the drive would be blocked until 4 pm because of cementing and the like. As a consequence we couldn't unload anything and so the day was spent pottering about waiting.
One of the good things is that an inspection of the garden revealed plenty of vegetables still there. Inspection of the kitchen shelves in conjunction with the garden made for the need for inventive cuisine. DS#1 fresh from his current job experience of cheffing rustled up a haggis lasagne (with courgette layers instead of pasta) and very good it was too. Should become his signature dish I feel.
The weather was glorious - almost reaching twenty degrees on the terrace and the village bar provided a welcoming fire and good fare in the evening after our three hours of toil offloading the van.
