Black meets white

I drove up to Polesden Lacey as I wanted to look in the National Trust shop. It was a beautiful morning and it would have been good to walk in the grounds, but another time maybe. There were plenty of people there, enjoying the sunshine. A large archway, entrance to the former stable yard, was decorated with this attractive garland up both sides and over the top, arranged strikingly on the line where black meets white. I
