ID needed

I'm sorry.  I know there are an awful lot of Arachnophobes out there, but if you can overcome that, they really are the most amazing creatures.

I don't know what this is, but I'll post it on a special Face Book page where someone is bound to know.  I'll get back to you.

Had a lovely lunch/blip meet with an old friend today -  with Hrubieszowianka. We do like to catch up every few months.

Edit: thanks to CabbageTree I looked at Argiope, and came up with the tear drop spider, or Argiope protensa.  It's a member of the orb family.  I turned it over to look at the top side, and it's the most beautiful pale white with a pearly sheen.  It didn't like being flipped though, and scurried away.
