Christmas Candle

I have placed a candle in the front door porch to illuminate our Christmas wreath. I also have electrical lights around the porch which will illuminate the wreath.
The candle gives a softer and more meaningful light to the wreath, or am I caught in a time warp when Christmas had more meaning than it does now.
