Busy day ......

...... Therefore..... I'm going to post photo's we took yesterday. but .. I did the collage today so maybe this will count hey !!!
A and I went to Godstone for a walk, when we got up to St. Nicholas Church they had a festival of Christmas Trees , what an extra bonus to our walk!
Potted history of the church.
The church area can be traced back to 950
A Norman church followed in 13th century when an aisle less nave a chancel and tower.
In 1846 at a vestry meeting it was reported that it was deficient in sittings! Therefore the north aisle was added and a few years latter the south transept was added. In 1870-71 restoration began and a south aisle was added. Almost nothing remains of the 13th century church except the base of the tower is visible , the foundations of the nave are said to be 12th century , the roof of the nave was built in 15th century.
Looking at all the organisations that have contributed to the tree decorations it is obvious that the village is thriving.

Happy ..... to have my Google restored ( which I had lost over the weekend! ) thanks Rev!
