AKHF took us to one mv's favourite haunts on the coast between Hall Road (with the Gormley's) and Hightown. The Gormley's were out (under a very high tide) bar the odd glimpse of a head, but the bricks were definitely in. This was the dumping ground for I don't know how many years after the War for rubble from bomb sites and presumably eventually anything that nobody wanted. I have tried to gather as many types of brick as I could, along with neo gothic fireplaces, pillars, pipes, tiles and twisted metal strands. A little boy's paradise, never mind a Blipper's.
We'd been lucky with the pocket of sunshine and watched a rainstorm sweep across the windmills out in the Channel while we ate all the fine foods on offer from the promenade vans. Even the Jubilee themed 99 ice cream cone.
AKHF has gone back now and Mrs Pepperpot is beginning to realise how quiet it will be when we've gone by tomorrow evening. She's a brick though...
