Diary of an Edinburgher

By LadyMarchmont

TWO walkies today!

Archie had a double dose of walkers today - morning and afternoon. The afternoon walker was a last minute, mid-study break for law exams. Archie was happy to oblige.

JR went off to Summerhall in the morning with Rufus and his mum (who is just back from a jaunt to Prague) and had a jolly time. They came back with pastries!

I did a few overseas Christmas cards, and read the Sunday papers, something I haven't done for ages because I've got them all on my iPad. AND I don't need glasses for the teeny tiny printing they do in newspapers now (I'm sure it never used to be THAT small before...)

We've had an attempt at fixing the 'hairy worm' draught excluder to the door, without success. We need a man. Preferably with a power drill. I may tempt the neighbour in with the offer of a coffee.

Archie loves keeping a watchful eye for any possible walkers. He knows because we generally have the front door open when someone is expected. He harrumphs at all other passers by. Now and again he will be asked to desist, so he turns round like this with an innocent look on his face. He reminds me of an owl, with his head twisted round, facing backwards.
