Ni(e)ce work if you can get it...

How lovely to spend a bit of pre-Christmas time with the various London-based Booknerds this weekend!

Poor old Pa Booknerd is rather under the weather with a cold but my beautiful niece, 'Appy, is in fine form and it was great to see her, Goatee and LOH today.

The high spot of the day, for me, was the chance to sing a rousing (and surprisingly tuneful!) rendition of 'The Twelve Days of Christmas' with the whole of the gathered ensemble, ages ranging from 3 to 80+.

In this picture, though, 'Appy is singing me the 'Hello' song which she sings regularly with her classmates at school.

"Do you sing it every day?" I asked.

"Only when I'm at school" she replied, giving me a pitying look. "Some days are weekends."

Fair point.

"Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good night" quoth 'Appy, as she bid us farewell. She really did!

I love my niece!
