Crops #1 Fields of gold

Well, they're not really gold yet, but they're only a couple of weeks away.

South Canterbury is a great grain growing district.  I think this is wheat - but I'm no expert.  I'll have to try to catch it just before harvest.  It'll get paler and paler as it ripens.

I love the way the wind shifts the field into patterns and the way the colours change as the seed heads bow to its superior power.
