Scrubbed up !

We don't often go out on a Saturday night;
we are over sixty and set in our ways
but, today, the neighbours invited us round,
along with more neighbours, these pre-Christmas days,
for nibbles and drinks and chatting and finding
we're all feeling more in the seasonal mood
for a social occasion that's more than the drink
and more than the sharing of seasonal food.
