Devils may sit here

After a day out, much of today was catching up on and responding to emails, and trying to write some papers.

I left sharp to attend a lecture by the Lord Advocate, James Wolffe, on criminal prosecution and human rights as part of the annual JUSTICE lecture series. The Lord Advocate had just returned from the Supreme Court hearing on the constitution and the Roysl Prerogative so it was good that he was able to make it, and to hear his robust defence (if that is the right word god a prosecutor) for respecting rights.

The lecture was in the Laigh Hall in the lower reaches of Parliament House. I understand that no photography is permitted there so could not capture the wonderful signs that stated "Devils may sit here".

Lawyers who undertake research on behalf of seniors "devil" so the sign is not as strange as it might seem if it were to be found in the subject of the blip- St Giles Cathedral, just beside Parliament House.
