The Bone Man
I had a very early rise this morning to be on my way to another Craft Fair with my French friend, this one in the Darwin Centre, Shrewsbury. The organisers were brilliant and we had been given our time slots to be at the Security Centre underground unloading area –early - to get our stock uploaded and into a commercial type lift to the venue, however it was all a bit daunting competing with huge lorries disgorging their loads. French friend held her nerve and we got set up well before time, even had a very good bacon sandwich and restorative coffee from next door café before the fray commenced.
It’s always interesting to find out who your next door exhibitor is going to be at these events. Today we had Shropshire Wildlife, which suited me just fine and the Membership Officer was amazing. Not only is he passionate about wildlife but started an interest in ‘bones’ when he was 14 – now a few years later (but to be truthful, quite a few years later!!) he has accumulated many specimens which he delighted the passers-by with together with his knowledge of the animal/bird - his skulls and skeletons were complimented by my fully feathered or furred photos. It’s been a long day but fun, interesting and a little more profitable than last week!
