Another day out ...
All go this weekend, with a trip to Cumbrae to see one of our oldest friends receive his BEM from the Lord Lieutenant of Ayrshire. (Oddly, though the Cathedral of The Isles on Cumbrae belongs to the diocese of Argyll and The Isles, this does not affect local government divisions). As it was also time for Alastair to join the ranks of us septuagenarians, it was a double celebration, for which about 80 folk piled into the Cathedral, then to the cloisters for fizz and food, before returning to the cathedral for a piano recital.
For once the Advent weather remained calm and relatively rain-free as long as it mattered, and we all came and left again without trauma. Can't believe it's almost half a century since we first went there to sing together ...
