Lavadero de la Puerta del Sol

For a long time women used to wash the family clothes in public washhouses like this. Today they are only monuments to really hard work.
In many Andalusian villages and small towns they have been used until very recently and some of them are very well preserved and deserve a visit. In cities, it is rather unusual to find them. We are lucky to have this lavadero in the Realejo district, still in good conditions but with no water!!
