You are so beautiful

As I turned a corner on my way from the rowing boat to the mail box, suddenly this beautiful creature was there on the road. We looked at each other for two or three seconds, and then two swift jumps and I was alone on the road again. Luckily I had my camera in my hand so that I could just take this one shot during those few seconds. I learned from my chance encounters with three elks and a badger (separate occasions) on the same road to have the camera ready, especially if it is very early. Today it was, 6.17 exactly in the morning.

It made strange noises when it ran off - perhaps there were some others (youngsters) following, and the purpose of the "messages" was to warn them. I staid put for another five minutes, but heard and saw nothing, and then continued on my way.
