Looks Good To Me

They're Not Missing...

...they're right here!

These are just two of many Missing Manuals produced by David Pogue, author and New York Times technology writer, and O'Reilly Media.

The manuals cover a wide range of topics -- and they're not confined to Apple products. I've only used the two in the photo, but they're extremely readable and useful. I've always found the information I need when I have a specific problem or question, and usually find a useful tip as a bonus.

I like to use the proper accents when I'm typing French or other foreign words. The method I'd been using was very time-consuming, but today I found a much faster method. All you have to do is hold down the letter key for a few seconds, until a box appears showing the accents for various languages. Each selection is numbered. To choose one you can click on it or hit the corresponding number key. The box disappears, the accent appears, and you're off typing English again -- or a different language.

Thank you, David Pogue, for your Missing Manuals, and for your informative (and entertaining) articles and videos in The New York Times.
