Oh, I do like to be...

...in Eastbourne!
The "Silver-haired Brigade" Paradise...

We dropped Ferguson off at Pre-school
& started in our journey. We arrived at Belle Tout lighthouse at Beachy Head early afternoon amid much excitement & squealing.

It's that one right on the edge of the cliff (once owned by the BBC) & has already been moved back to prevent it falling into the sea.
It's brilliant!! I managed to contain my glee at the room in which we were staying... I wanted to keep that as a surprise.

We could only check-in after 4:30pm so we took a stroll around Eastbourne.

Walking along the seafront to the Pier, Alexander had already decided on the customary fish snack that you always get by the seaside. I chose [my usual] Cockles & he foolishly had Jellied Eels.
From the moment she spooned them into the cup, I knew they were not going to go down well! I managed one spoonful, filmed & recorded where I quite literally gag & almost vom from the vileness!
Alexander managed 2 before abandoning them for the seagulls lunch....[that is if they eat such putrid thing...!]

Following that food disaster, a yummy meal at "Eastbourne's newest restaurant" completed our day before heading back to our temporary cliffside home.

The manager was brilliant & really welcoming despite us arriving at 10pm.

Our room, The Keepers Loft was in the original tower & had the bed up a ladder in a bunk!! It was such a clever conversion!
The shower was positioned under the stone staircase & everything was designed in such sympathy with the character of the building.

The Lamp Room featured one time on "Changing Rooms" & served as our nightcap location. In daylight, I'm sure the views are pretty spectacular...

Going to bed has never been quite so exciting, I feel like a child all over again...!
