The Meadows
What a horrible dull, dreary and cold day. We've had all the heating on all day, we've had all the lighting on all day and when I came back from my afternoon walk at 3.15pm Ann said, 'Molly, I hate this time of year. It's so cold and dark we might as well close the curtains now.' So that is what she did!!! We're in hibernation for the rest of the evening.
Anyway continuing on with our 'Edinburgh Parks Project'; here I am in the Meadows which is a huge area of open space in the centre of the city.
And if anyone is interested in the 'Christmas Tree Saga'................................ (See here and here and here). Got an email at 8.10am saying, 'Your order is being picked and packed and will be on it's way to you very soon. If you have selected for your items to be delivered to your local store, please hold tight as the store will call you as soon as your order has arrived and is ready for you to collect.' We haven't had a call!!!
Picked and packed?.................... It's a Christmas Tree, albeit a very tasteful, arty farty, white twiggy type Christmas tree. Surely it's already in a box just waiting for someone to throw it on to the delivery lorry. It's not like anyone has to go to the land of Christmas trees to chop it down. And come to think of it........................ It's Christmas – Why on earth does the store not automatically stock Christmas Trees in the shop at Christmas if they sell them? Grrrrrr........
And the only reason why we're not 'naming and shaming' the 'well known store' is because these days, the minute one mentions the name of a shop/pub/restaurant etc on line, the social media experts for the establishment, start bombarding one with messages asking one to write a review. Yes a review will be written but all in good time. Lol!
