Polingey Mill
High tide on the turn at Polingey Mill at the crack of sparrows this morning. There was once a tidal mill here, but only the foundations survive which can be seen at low tide. I think tidal mills should make a comeback. What a genius idea. Only about a thousand years old. Why did we stop doing it?
I love a tidal river when it is at the point where you see the water stop, stay, then flow in the other direction. Just very pleasing for some reason.
I also like the reflections in this, as an aside :)
